22 September 2021: LiLaCC third staff training workshop

LiLaCc partners participtaed in the third training workshop in September 2021. They discussed techincal aspects of MOOC development exercise with some group work practice (moderator - Ashok Tripathi, LUT). The following aspects were covered in the deliberations:
1. Engagement – start with a quiz vs start with a video vs..etc.
2. Evaluation of learning outcomes – scored exercises vs essay questions, manual evaluation vs algo evaluation vs self-evaluation.
3. Development quality
4. Crossing language/culture/geography barriers.
5. Standing out on the platform.
6. Sustainability (has aspects of 4 or maybe is 4).
7. MOOC course completion by participants tied to the technical aspects (does
one kind of MOOC platform lead to more/better completion rates than another).
8. Visitors vs participants in the MOOC – how to identify and handle. Does the platform technical aspect help.
9. Learning technologies leading-to/influencing learning methods.
10. Reflection activity as learning outcome measurement – merging formal and
informal learning activities.
Several presentations were made: on xMOOC & cMOOC, brief presentation of EdX, Coursera & Udemy (Ashok), deliberation on choosing the platform for LiLaCC.

15 June 2021: LiLaCC second staff training workshop

LiLaCC partners met via Zoom for the seconf staff training event, which consisted of internal project participants meeting and guest speakers programme. Ekaterina Shiman from NArFU made a short update on NArFU survey results  (LiLaCC MOOC development) and Abdoulrasoul Habibipor from LTU moderated MOOC development exercise and group work. 

Project coordinator Karl Andersson made a welcome speech and briefly introduced the project for guests and external participants. Presentations from guest speakers included the following:

COURSERA platform by George Nikachev, COURSERA
WWF Russia - NArFU case: “Climate and Energy” “Raising awareness on climate change among young people of Russian Barents Sea regions” by Alexey Kokorin recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize 2007, WWF Russia Programme Director, Project tutor.



24 March 2021: Staff training workshop

LiLaCC first staff training workshop was organised by LTU and took place on the 24th March 2021; 12:30-15:30 CET via Zoom. LTU shared its experience in MOOC development (Hamam Mokayed, Wiebke Reim), and also made a presentation of a living laboratory concept and realisation (Anna Ståhlbröst). After the presentations all participants divided into two teams and discussed living lab key components, making an interactive table, and shared their insights afterwards. The whole event was managed by PhD Abdolrasoul Habibipour, a member of LTU LiLaCC team.



9 February 2021: LiLaCC online kick-off

LiLaCC project has officially started on February, 9, 2021 (8 - 11:00 CET) with an online partners meeting. All partners made self-presentations, project work plan was agreed on, and all partners made presentations about their planned activities. Communication plan and event list were also updated. Andrei Rybin (ITMO) and Karl Andersson (LTU) summarized the discussions with our Project Officer. 
Period reporting will cover two periods: M1-M21 and M22-M36. Only deliverables/reports that have an external interest need to be uploaded to the EC portal. 
Jari Porras (LUT) will send quidelines for data collection concerning national education strategies related to climate change and guidelines for climate change education implementation in HEIs in the partner region.
Next management meeting to be held on 11 May 13-15 CET. We will discuss progress in all WPs and make decisions together. At least on participant per partner is expect to join. Everybody is welcome to attend.
